Before leaving home
Don’t forget your bank card
Our stallholders can only accept cash on the day. If you don’t have enough at home, please visit a cash machine before attending the market.
Make a note of the most important items you are looking to purchase
There are literally thousands of goods to choose from, referring to your notes will help focus your mind on what you came for. Still keep your eyes open for those cracking deals though, there are too many to be had!
The perfect buying opportunity – don’t be shy!
What could be better than buying a pre-loved item off somebody who used to own it - face to face? The person in question knows all about the product and can answer all your questions about it. Use this opportunity to ask as much information as you need and to ask for a demonstration and then you can decide if you want to buy it. When purchasing electrical and battery operated toys/items we recommend that you ask the seller to demonstrate it's in full working order.
Don't be afraid to haggle
Stallholders at our nearly new sales are friendly and approachable, they are there to de-clutter their homes and want to sell as many of their items as possible. Bargains are there to be had, if you don’t ask, you don’t get!
Take a trip round the venue MORE THAN ONCE
Many stallholders bring more goods than they can display at once, by the time you’ve walked round once the stallholders could be restocking their stalls. Even if some haven’t, on your second or third trip round, you will spot things you didn’t see the first time around as stalls become less cluttered!
Be shrewd, avoid the crowds & get the best deals of the day
If you don’t like standing in long queues or don’t like the hustle and bustle of crowds, it’s probably better to come after the initial swarm has dispersed, usually around 1 hour into the event things start to calm down. Large items like pushchairs etc. tend to sell quickly, so if you’re looking to purchase a specific type of larger item, it may be best to suffer the crowds and arrive early. If you’re not looking for anything in particular and just want to browse for some great bargains, the latter half of the event is often a good time to shop as stallholders tend to lower the prices on their goods as they don’t want to be taking them home – you can get some real steals in the last half an hour, another reason to walk round the venue more than once!
Always shop wisely - our markets are held on a monthly basis
Every month we have a fresh lot of stallholders with new bargains!
Please note that all items sold at our nearly new baby sales are sold as seen, our Event Organisers cannot be held responsible for damaged/faulty items. So PLEASE check your items before leaving the market.
